Backsplash Transformations |
|
For a quick, minimally invasive kitchen transformation, try using a mural or faux finish to create a whole new backsplash. The results can be dramatic, and it can be achieved without tearing out your existing wall. Take a look at several of our recent works.
This homeowner had been living with drywall for a couple of years. She was waiting to find the exact color of subway tile. We custom mixed paint at her home to find the perfect shade, and then painted on faux tiles.

This homeowner had installed 4 inch squares of tumbled marble. We hand painted a Tuscan landscape to create a mood, open up the space and enhance the colors of the rich wood and beautiful marble she had chosen.

and in the laundry, too ...

Another variation of the custom work is this final series. This homeowner did not think she knew what she wanted. We discussed a number of ideas, but nothing felt quite right. Then we noticed a cobalt blue glass plate in a display case. We complimented it. The homeowner said she loved it too. It would be her ideal backsplash, but she didn’t realize that it could be done. We said, “Piece of cake!” With the plate for inspiration, and iridescent paints and plasters we were able to create the effect she was after for this dramatic kitchen.
