All jobs are custom, and many considerations are involved in the pricing. Obvious factors are size, and intricacy, cost of materials, tricky obstacles and the height of the walls or ceiling. Our finishes range in price between $2.50 and $20 per square foot, with beautiful options available at all levels. Murals are priced individually, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
Unlike regular painters who usually average up to 300 square feet per hour, decorative painting is not a production process. We actually “touch” the entire surface of the wall, often several times. When painting, artisans use small tools like rags, cheesecloth, trowels and sponges. The decorative painter typically works 10 - 40 square feet per hour. In most cases the finishes are “layered,” meaning the artisan does multiple passes around the room.
